Recognizing the importance of engaging legal services for the negotiation and review of employment contract agreements, the Â鶹´«Ã½has partnered with Resolve to provide a tiered menu of contract review services at a discounted rate as a benefit of membership in the ACS. MGMA Data Reports

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) delivers surgical specialty reports including salary and productivity information that you can use to stay informed on the market. Multiple subspecialties are available with the purchase of the core specialty’s report.

AMGA Medical Group Compensation and Productivity Survey Data

The Â鶹´«Ã½has partnered with AMGA to offer a discount for Â鶹´«Ã½members for the . The Report focuses on the individual compensation and productivity of physicians and other clinical staff, starting salaries of new residents and experienced new hires, as well as salaries for physician leadership, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Metrics for 177 specialties are available in the AMGA report.

By using the Â鶹´«Ã½discount code, the pricing for the subsets will be $250 for one specialty, $400 for two, and $500 for three.

Â鶹´«Ã½Resources for the Practicing Surgeon, Volume I: The Employed Surgeon

Since the publication of the Surgeons as Institutional Employees: A Strategic Look at the Dimensions of Surgeons as Employees of Hospitals primer in 2012, institutional and hospital-based physician employment has only become more complex. The Â鶹´«Ã½Division of Advocacy and Health Policy (DAHP), along with the General Surgery Coding and Reimbursement Committee, revamped and expanded the 2012 primer in response to requests from Fellows for more help in navigating the waters of employment, understanding compensation, negotiating contracts, and more. This updated primer is the first volume in a series of resources the DAHP is working to produce for practicing surgeons.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Division of Advocacy and Health Policy has revamped and expanded the College’s 2018 Employed Surgeon primer to address the ever-changing landscape of physician employment and the complexities of ensuring a surgeon’s expertise is fairly and equitably measured and valued by their employer. This updated publication highlights some of the important principles of navigating career opportunities and the logistical, financial, and contractual nuances associated with becoming or maintaining one’s position as an employed surgeon.
