Chapter State Advocacy Grant Program

The Â鶹´«Ã½ (ACS) provides support of state-level advocacy efforts of Â鶹´«Ã½chapters in their respective states including financial support provided through the state advocacy grant program.

In October 2010, the Board of Regents, with support from the Board of Governors Committee on Chapter Relations (GCCR) and 27 Â鶹´«Ã½chapters, approved the Â鶹´«Ã½Chapter Advocacy Lobby Day Program. In 2021, the grant program was revised as the Â鶹´«Ã½State Advocacy Grant Program to provide Â鶹´«Ã½Chapters more flexibility to engage on state legislative issues important to the practice of surgery and delivery of quality patient care.

Â鶹´«Ã½chapters may apply for an advocacy grant to support their state advocacy goals. Chapters are required to match at least 50 percent of the amount requested in the grant application. Once grant recipients are selected, they will be assigned a member of the Â鶹´«Ã½State Affairs team to assist with the planning and on-site implementation of the event. Chapters are encouraged to download our State Lobby Day and State Advocacy Meeting Toolkits.

A Frequently Asked Questions document is also provided below to highlight the changes made to the program.
